back

It’s the peak of busy season, and I have so many new favorites! I wanted to share some of my favorite images from the past couple of weeks. I hope this is helpful to you! 🙂

Time of Year: November

Time of Day: around 6:00 (about an hour before sunset)

Camera: Canon R6

Lens: Canon 85mm f/1.2 L

Settings: Aperture (f-stop) – f/2.5 ISO – 640 Shutter Speed – 1/800 second

Side Note: We hiked down a steep cliff to get to this waterfall, but it was so worth it! Ivy had Birkenstock sandals on, but I asked her to take them off for this shot to have more of an earthy/simple look. I asked her to pull her dress up a bit and “bunch it up” so it didn’t look so perfect. I wanted it to look like she had just sat on her own to enjoy that view without looking too posed.

Time of Year: October

Time of Day: around 6:00 (about an hour before sunset)

Camera: Canon R6

Lens: Canon 35mm f/1.4 L

Settings: Aperture (f-stop) – f/3.5 ISO – 1000 Shutter Speed – 1/200 second

Side Note: The parents were throwing leaves up into the air to make the kids laugh! They stood behind me and to the side of me. The kids loved it! 🙂

Time of Year: October

Time of Day: around 7:00 (at the end of the session, right before sunset)

Camera: Canon R6

Lens: Canon 35mm f/1.4 L

Settings: Aperture (f-stop) – f/4 ISO – 640 Shutter Speed – 1/640 second

Side Note: This was at the end of the session, and the girls were tired of pictures! LOL That’s when it’s important to give them something to do so they don’t realize they’re “taking pictures”! 🙂 I asked Mom & Dad to twirl their girls. I told the little girls to try to make their hair fly through the air! I love how the sun is lighting up her hair as it flies through the air. Mission accomplished! 🙂

Time of Year: October

Time of Day: around 5:30 (about an hour before sunset)

Camera: Canon R6

Lens: Canon 35mm f/1.4 L

Settings: Aperture (f-stop) – f/2.8 ISO – 500 Shutter Speed – 1/800 second

Side Note: The session had just started, and Jake (the littlest boy) was still warming up. He wasn’t too sure about me, so I just let them play for a few minutes and just observed them playing. He was in his own little world collecting sticks, and his big brother was playing along. 🙂 The little guy just needed a few minutes to get used to me, and instead of forcing it, I just went along with it and got the sweetest lifestyle/documentary shots in the process.

Side Note: I had David put his left arm around Chelsea’s waist and she put her hand on his. Then, I had him put his hand in his pocket (to avoid awkward hands). I asked Chelsea to put her hand on her hip. I told her to just snuggle into him, and this is what we got. He naturally kissed her head. It was so sweet! 🙂

I hope these insights are helpful to you! I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. I want to share all I can to encourage you on your photography journey! If you have questions, just ask! 🙂

Thanks for being here!!

~Ashlee 🙂
